    Why Should I Get Implants?

Implant dentistry replaces missing teeth with an artificial tooth root and crown that matches the look and feel of your original teeth. Missing teeth can often make it difficult to laugh, speak, smile, eat and even kiss. Dental implants restore your teeth and bring with them a higher quality of life.

    Dental Implants

    Dental implants

Tooth loss restricts your ability to chew properly and also affects your diet and nutrition to your disadvantage. In case you have a missing tooth, there are a number of ways in which we can fix your missing tooth. And there is no long-lasting and better option than dental implant to restore that missing tooth.

A dentist surgically places the implant in an opening he has made in your jawbone, which acts as the new “root” for the missing tooth. A “crown” is then added to the implant which fills the space left by the missing tooth.

    Causes

Tooth loss can take place due to a wide array of reasons, right from uncontrolled diabetes to smoking and periodontal (gum) disease. Periodontal disease is a gum disease which weakens the attaching structures from the tooth, detaching it from your gum eventually. Bacteria in your saliva can also cause tooth loss as it deposits plaque on your gum and tooth, making it decay over time.

Other major causes of tooth loss are –

    • Radiation to the jaws
    • Cancer
    • Injury, especially in contact sports
    • Poor dental care and maintenance
    • Other oral diseases

    Symptoms

Tooth loss may not be painful at all, except for loss due to injury. This makes it difficult to identify the symptoms of tooth loss and prevent it before it actually takes place. However, you can notice the following things if you are experiencing tooth decay, the stage preceding tooth loss
    • Strange, unpleasant taste in mouth, especially when you wake up
    • An unexpected tooth pain having no underlying cause
    • Tooth sensitivity
    • Bad breath
    • Grayish black spots on your teeth
These are the most common symptoms of tooth decay, and you should consult one of our dentists for treatment and information about prevention of cavities and tooth loss. Tooth decay treatment is a lot effective and cheaper as compared to tooth loss treatment as it is in the early stages.
